Jazz dancing is the more popular style among the students as it is fun, energetic and uplifting. Jazz is a great work out for all ages and levels of ability. It enhances a students flexibility, movement, and fitness levels.
Tap dancing is a style in which the rhythm is sounded out by the clicking taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes. Tap shows rhythmic variations and gets the students to show rhythm, timing and combinations with their tap shoes.
Contemporary is a mix of ballet and modern dance. Contemporary dance encourages students to show self-expression, natural movement and personal interpretation.
Ballet classes offer strength, posture, discipline and technique. Classical ballet is characterized by a standard vocabulary of steps, poses, and graceful movements including pointed feet, rising, jumping, stretching and turning.
Dance Pointe uses RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) as their ballet syllabus.
Dance Pointe provides the opportunity for dancers to attend our basic/advanced acrobatics training classes. Acro is a form of gymnastics that dancers use to learn and complete tricks (both floor and aerial). This class also includes stretching, strength and flexibility.
The aim is to develop core strength, ease and openness in the joints to get a flexible, well balanced dancers body.
Kinder class is for students who are 3+ and do not attend school. The class incorporates elements of both ballet and jazz and also helps students with co-ordination, balance, rhythm and self esteem. Kinder class focuses on having fun and learning at the same time.
